Auerbach, Michelle

This picture was taken the day he became a Marine.

My son Isaiah E. Ramirez is a Marine who will be deployed to Irac April 11, 2003. He has just finished SOI last Tuesday. He was meritoriously promoted to Lance Corporal. Isaiah finished 1st with a 99.08% in his scholastic studies, placed 2nd in PFT with a score of 298, and was Honor man of his Platoon. Isaiah is a Mortar Man with the 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines. Isaiah is 19yrs old. My 3rd out of 5 children. I love him deeply and am very proud of him. After 9/11 he was ready to join, he was only 17 then. I in good consciousness would not sign papers to allow him to join. I felt I would never forgive myself if I did and something should happen to him if there were, God forbid a war. The day of his 18th, he signed up. First with the Army, but he would have to wait almost 8 months to join after he finished high school. Isaiah decided to choose the Marines, stating that they were the Elite Fighting Force of the USA. He graduated high school in June and by Oct was at the MCRD in San Diego, CA. I have always been proud of my son--words cannot express the honor, love and pride I felt that day as my son became a Marine. Isaiah is proud to be a Marine and he is looking forward to his first deployment to Irac. I will pray that God will continuously keep Isaiah, and all the other brave young men and women of the Marine Corps safe, strong in Courage, Honor, and Commitment. I am a Proud Marine Mom!!!

Just an update! My son, LCPL Isaiah Ramirez with Golf CO., is still in Iraq. I recieved a phone call from him 2 wks ago. It was so good to hear his voice!!! Last Saturday June 14th, I recieved 2 letters from him. It took about 6.5 wks for my care package to arrive. He is in good spirits and is looking forward to comming home, hopefully in July. He does tell me that the people have become a little more rebellious. I just want him, and all the other young men and women to be safe out there and I hope for their quick return!!!

Another update on my son, LCPL Isaiah Ramirez in Golf Co. 2nd Battalion,5th Marines Weapon Plt. I recieved a call from Isaiah on June 29th from Kuwait. Isaiah was disapointed, his plt. had thought they were to come home to the "Good Ole USA". He had just recieved word that they were to go back up north into Iraq. He told me the entire plt. were upset, thinking they were to be going home only to find out they were heading back to where they came from. Has anyone else out there spoke to a Loved One in 2/5 Weapon Plt. about this? I pray they will get home soon, Isaiah said they could be delayed by 2 more months, ofcourse he said he doesn't know for sure---as nothing is written in stone with the military. This is all I have to update. A Very Proud Marine Mom.

Isaiah's home!!!!! As of August 13th. I hope all of your sons and daughters are home or coming home safe!!!! A very happy Marine Mom.

Carpenter, Jennifer

Hi. My husband was deployed overseas to iraq very early in February. I can honestly say seeing him leave was the hardest thing I've ever had to do in my entire life. I can only imagine the stress and trauma the marines are enduring over there. I would like to thank them for being so brave and selfless in protecting all of america. I am the proud wife of Lcpl. Robert Carpenter. He is a member of Golf company, second battalion, fifth marines. On February 2, 2003 he was called to duty to serve in operation iraqi freedom. Seeing him leave was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. I can only imagine how our marines are feeling so far away from thier loved ones. My husband and all of the other marines serving overseas are heros and should be proud of themselves for being so brave and selfless in serving our count
r
y. Pray for our soldiers and thier safe return. I can't wait until they all come home. God bless the U.S.A.

My son is 0, in Marine Infantry ECHO Co., somewhere SE of Baghdad; we've heard nothing since MRE postcard mailed 3/12...we have formed an informal e-mail circle we call "Echo Support Platoon" with parents of Echo C. Marines, to share news items, listen to each other's concerns, try to share the burden of worry/love/concern for the troops, and get positive communications out to various local media about the ground-breaking way of warfare our Marines are demonstrating. We pray for the safe return of every Marine, and every soldier; we mourn the loss of every casualty, and join with all Marine families in praying for those in harm's way on our behalf.

Keith, Wendy

My name is Wendy Keith. My husband is Sgt. Matthew Keith Echo Company. I am thrilled to have been through your website. I am a very active member of the Key Volunteer Network for BLT 2/5. I am so glad that your site is positive and geared towards really taking care of the families.

We have, unfortunately, a wife that has created her own site and quite frankly, the gossip has been so damaging to so many. Thank you for all you are doing to give correct information to the persons that visit your site.

I currently volunteer with four organizations upon Camp Pendleton. Key Volunteer Network, Enlisted Wives Club (current position as the historian), LES (which is a three day seminar that is geared towards spousal leadership and growing as a team and volunteer) and L.I.N.K.S. (this is my heart and soul. This course is designed to help educate the spouses in Marine Corps history, making your way around Camp Pendleton, reading and understanding the Leave and Earnings Statement, dealing with deployments, getting along with other spouses, staying Marine and the benefits of their Marine staying Marine as well as volunteering on the base.)

I would be happy to give other links of importance or anything else you might want or need assistance with. If I may help in any way, please, ask..

Thank you again for all you are doing for Second Battalion Fifth Marines. Semper Fidelis!!!

Souza, Jr., Ron

I am the proud father of LCPL Adrian M. Souza of the 2nd battilion fifth regiment Golf Company Wpns platoon. He is a fine young man, and he is doing a great service for our country. This is really difficult for me, with all the 24 hour news. It is hard to sleep. My prayers are with our boys and all the families left here in the states. God bless the support groups.

My Cousin, LCPL Ed Scott, is with the 2-5 Golf Company. I am proud that he is risking his life and freedom so that others may share in such blessings that so many Americans take for granted. I hope that he and his brothers achieve swift and just victories as they battle the evil regime of Hussein; and may they all come home safe and soon!
