I am a wife of a Marine in 2/5, I will share what little I know wich really isnt anything. First remember that no news is good news. They are well trained marines also. As far as email and such, I do not think they have access to the internet or telephones where they are. I do not know if there still getting mail but I write my husbnad everyday. The letters are very important to them they miss us at much as we miss them. I belive only one Marine from 2/5 has been injured.
There is a photojournalist embedded with the unit, he is with the denver post. his name is Andy Cross. I checked their site on the web and found some pictures and stories that go with the unit.
