Thanks to Sam and Donna Henderson for sending hats on short notice. I love you guys.
Chris Brown came in on the 21st and I picked him up Sunday morning early for Golf. We had a pleasureable round with a fellow Quail Vally member named Bruce. I forgot to keep score on a few holes which helped my game enormously.
After the golf we hauled it to the Sports Resort to meet the guys. I was afraid no one would show because I was late getting the word out. I was pleasantly wrong. My buddy Bobby Smith attended. Bobby is the ROTC instructor at Taylor High School in Aleif Texas, which is suburb of houston. He lives here in southwest Houston during the week and goes home to Livingston on the weekends. David Cutea arrived next. He had some nice pictures of what Vietnam looks like today. He married a Vietnamese gal and has visited the country several times. David is a musician. He plays several instruments. Jeff Guillory made the meeting. He was with Fox Company I believe in 1970 . He is an accountant in houston. Jimmy McClintock made the affair complete. Jimmy is a senior engineer for Harris County.Of course Chris Brown was there. Everyone knows without his great heart for his fellow marines and his dedication to the task of finding every Former Fox COMPANY member we would not have the wonderful reunions that most of us so cherish. God Bless Chris Brown.
We talked for about four hours but it felt like an hour. It was a real good time. A couple of the guys had not spoken to a fellow Fox Company Marine since their time in Vietnam. I think they went home feeling good about the afternoon we spent together.
I hope to organize another mini reunion within the next couple of months. I beleive we may have as many as 15 to attend.
All the Best to you and your families, Semper Fi, Rod Gurganious
