: I'm not a marine, just an Australian ex-infantryman, wounded in action in Vietnam 1969. Subsequently hospitalised for over two years. Need the support of some ex-vets with grunt, re a gutless local bureaucracy. Me and six other disabled vets and our wives planted over 200 trees on behalf of Vets of the Vietnam War, but we're denied a plaque acknowledging this. Full details are at my web site (www.members.tripod.com/warvet_69) and there is an on-line petition at httpL//www.PetitionOnline.com/vvlm230/petition/html : Any assistance from you marines (and/or fellow vets or organisations)would be appreciated. Regards, Don Tate Don, Iknow how you feel, but things are not really that bad. I recently had the opportunity of confronting a person who ran for local political office and constantly told about his great leadership ability and the fact that he had earned two bronze stars in combat in nam. When I asked him to stop saying that,he denied that we even served together at the same time/same unit. Please remember that this is the height of political correctness,in that what ever serves your needs is what to claim,so don,t be very alarmed about what any given person may think about nam vets, just hold them sovery close to your own heart that they feel it,and don't be short on saying you love them. Remember, lots of people don't even know what nam was. Thanks for your efforts, and to be sure, someone loves you for it,,,Crutch Tucker
