Dear Greg: Sgt. Steve Nolley who was with Fox July 68 to August 69 Passed away in Reedsport Oregon at the beginning of August. He is survived by his wife Sharon, two daughters and five grandsons. Steve served two tours in Vietnam. The first with Fox and the second with 1/9. He was awarded the bronze star with V and the legion of merit along with other awards and decorations. I met Steve in weapons school at Pendleton. After thirty days leave we met again at staging. We shipped over and expected to be assigned to a weapons company. The Marine Corps needed more riflemen than rocket men so we both ended up at Liberty Bridge. Steve was a quiet man with a naturally good heart. Steve and his wife were foster parents to two sons. I feel fortunate to have known him. Steve Nolley looked forward to his first Reunion in Reno. After all these years he felt as if he was truly home and he was at peace with his experience in Vietnam. All who knew him were blessed by the experience. He never forgot the lessons learned in the Corps and he never wavered in his belief in Honor, Courage and Commitment. The way he lived his life made the world a better place. Please pass the word and say a prayer for Steve and his family. Semper Fi, Rod Gurganious
